Running is often dominated by men, but there are a few women who have made an impact on the sport. Rita Jeptoo is one example. She won the Boston and Chicago Marathons back-toback in 2013/14. For using EPO, she was later barred from competing for four more years. Chebet's teenage successor, Agnes Jebet Tirop won the 2015 IAAF World Cross.

Keira D'Amato, a famous female runner, has an unusual story. Keira D'Amato is an athlete who has a busy lifestyle. She works full-time in Real Estate, and also runs. She set an American marathon record last year. She beat Deena Kastor's previous record of 24 seconds. Keira, at just 37 years of age, is already a well known athlete. However she started out as an avid jogger. Keira D'Amato graduated from American University and went on to become a Realtor. She also had two children, and participated in the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Paula Jane Radcliffe

Paula Jane Radcliff, an internationally renowned female runner has been successful in the long-distance running events. She is the champion of both the New York Marathon in London and the Chicago Marathon in New York. She has won many other races.

Helene de Pourtales

Helene de Pourtales was born in New York. She was the only child of a wealthy tobacco family. Isaac Barbey, her father, established the tobacco empire. Helene's mother was a Lolliard, from France. Helene was an athlete and married Hermann Alexandre de Pourtales, a Huguenot descendant. They had three children. Helene learned her love of horses from her mother.


Allison Stokke

Allison Stokke is a well-known female pole vaulter, runner, and athlete. She is white and was born in Newport Beach. After graduating from Newport Harbor High School, she continued her education at the University of California. Stokke won many records in pole vaulting and other sports while at both schools. Stokke also advocates healthy food and encourages others.

Tia-Clair Toomey

Famous female runner Tia-Claire Toomey has been one of the most successful athletes of the last year, and for good reason. She is the face in female fitness. Her results speak louder than her words every time she competes. She won 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games. Toomey was able to overcome a difficult start and lead the competition through the end.

Allison Baver

Allison Baver, a former U.S. Olympian in competitive running, announced her retirement on Monday. She was an Olympian three times. Her first appearance as an alternate in the U.S. women’s 3000m relay team was in Salt Lake City in 2002. Allison has also participated in the 2006 Torino Winter Games. She was third in her relay in the 3000m. Allison suffered a tragic injury in 2009 when she fractured her right ankle and leg in a crash with a teammate. This happened one year before she was scheduled to compete in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
