The Chevron Tournament, the LPGA's newest major championship, will be played at Carlton Woods. The tournament will be hosted by The Club at Carlton Woods Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. It's part of a five-year agreement which will also see the tournament televised live on NBC Sports.
It opened to play in 2001. It is known for its undulating greens and bunker-protected bunkers. In 2014, it hosted the U.S. Will Zalatoris won the Junior Amateur. In addition, it has also hosted the qualifying rounds for the U.S. Open and LPGA Tour events. It also hosted Jennifer Kupcho's final edition LPGA Tour's Mission Hills tournament at Rancho Miro in California.
Carlton Woods offers a strong junior golf program
Carlton Woods is renowned for its strong junior golf program. The HP Boys Championship has been hosted by Tiger Woods (pictured), Rickie Foller (pictured), and David Duval (pictured). The invitation-only event raises funds for junior golf clubs. The HP Boys Championship has donated more than $44,000 to local charities and schools over the last three years. The AJGA awarded awards last year for the best media coverage and charitable giving.

Louise Suggs was the founder of the LPGA
Louise Suggs started the LPGA. This is a tour that allows women to compete in major tournaments. Suggs was assisted by her two partners in establishing the organization and organizing tournaments. They also promoted teaching clinics.
Suggs hosted a 72-hole competition in West Palm Beach, Florida in the 1960s. Suggs competed against other LPGA/PGA professionals in this tournament.

Gary Player: Gary Player became a four-time major winner and won his first major at 26, the Open Championship. He was able to complete the grand-slam with nine major championships. In addition to his major championships, Player won four consecutive PGA Championships, including the U.S. Open in 1965. He also finished among the top five at U.S. Open Masters and won the Masters in 1978.
