Christiane Endler, Goalkeeper

In Tuesday's World Cup opener, Chile was dominated by the United States Women's National Team (USWNT) 2-0. Carli Lloyd scored twice and Julie Ertz added a single, and the USWNT is now 3-0-0 all-time against Chile. The USWNT leads Group A on goal differential. On Thursday, they will take on Sweden. The USWNT is expected to win the match. They will also be looking to extend their winning streak.

Start lineup

Which players are to be started in the Women's Soccer USA against Chile match? The United States will be looking to continue their unbeaten run in the group stage, but a win over Chile could prove vital for their Olympic hopes. The U.S. is currently ranked 4th in the world and has won 20 matches. Their last match saw them defeat Sweden 66-38. They were dominant in possession and scored twice in the first quarter, but they only saw the ball 28% of their match. The USA did not slow down despite starting the match with seven stars. Carli Lloyd scored two goals and missed a third.

Disputes between USWNT and FIFA

The dispute between U.S. soccer and FIFA has been simmering for a while now, but it is finally coming to a head. A lawsuit was filed by U.S. soccer players on International Women's Day four months before the Women's World Cup. Players claim that they are paid less than men and are not given equal working conditions.

Players who have 200 caps or more

Becky Sauerbrunn is the 12th player to reach 200 caps in USWNT history. She will also be the fourth player to surpass this mark as a defender. This feat comes just months after the Dutch captain achieved this milestone. It will also surpass the achievement of General Manager Kate Markgraf. This feat comes two years after a player had captained the U.S. team for the first-time since her 100th cap celebration.

Endler's denial about Press

Christen press teed Lindsey Horan in the U.S. goal. Endler, however, came out of her goal to deny her tap-in. Press's strike would have given Chile the lead, but Endler made a world-class save. She has an extraordinary instinct and is capable of making incredible saves. The game's highlight was the 68th-minute save.
